POTR pots are flat pack plant pots designed to self- water your plants and made from 100% recycled materials!

The super simple product has been inspired by origami and has been designed from start to finish with our environment in mind.

All materials used in our pots are made from 100% recycled materials and are 100% recyclable at the end of life (should you ever choose to get rid of your POTR!). All materials have been sourced from within Europe to reduce our carbon footprint when transporting the raw materials, and all manufacturing is carried out in the UK.

We have partnered with a company who specialise in die cutting – the main manufacturing process used to create our nets shapes. Not only do they have a skilled and experienced work force, they also design and manufacture the die cutting tools in house. This has allowed us to collaborate on the design of the tool from an early stage, ensuring a space efficient design which minimizes scrap off cuts.

One of our goals is to keep product mileage low by keeping production local. The production, assembly and fulfilment of our pots is carried out in Bristol and our key manufacturing method is die cutting – a low energy, cold production process. Not only is this better for the environment, it helps to supports skilled, local production and manufacturing jobs right here in the UK. Being closer to the source of production also means we have greater control over the quality of our products which ultimately leads to less wastage.

On top of all of this, we have built up strong working relationships with our manufacturing partners and really enjoy the process of developing new products with them!

We selected recycled polypropylene due to its fantastic mechanical properties. PP is robust meaning it will last a lifetime; unlike traditional plant pots, POTR pots will not break if they are dropped or knocked. The unique mechanical properties of recycled PP also ensure the longevity of the folding origami hinges.

Our recycled polypropylene is being supplied from a materials manufacturer in France and our recycled cotton cord we are purchasing from Bobbiny, based in Poland.
